WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Carlos, July 2024
Last weekend a group of us stayed at the Mountford Hotel and the whole experience was very pleasant.
A quiet hotel at a very nice location, just a few minutes away from the busy city centre.
All staff were extremely cordial and attentive to our requests. Tristan at the bar was extremely nice, polite and friendly and made us feel truly comfortable whilst all of us were enjoying drinks and a chat.
He truly knows the ropes, so thank you Tristan and we all look forward to seeing you again sometime soon at the Mountford!

Much to say here, location is very good, bus to city centre is a 1 minute walk, bus to other locations is OK also a 1 minute walk, staff are very welcoming, what got me the most was the Price, very cheap for what you get and that's with continental breakfast included, bar that closes at 9:00, if empty😂, has Coors, Carling and Guinness on tap, well stocked fridge and plenty of spirits to choose from, the bed was very comfortable, shower room, OK a bit of darkened grout, but don't worry the shower itself made up for this minor lack of tooth brush cleaning, £50 retainer is required on top of bill, but the price kicks that into the bin anyway, pool table £1 a go, average price but then above average pool table, 4 out of 5 stars for me, if your visiting Liverpool for site seeing book here, no photos this time but may revisit.
Now my review on some reviews I have read:
1st if you want ritz hotel standards then pay for them there not here. Most of my life is in the Hilton, best hotel in the world, ( my Boss), but I review others.
2nd want the capella standards no problem goto Bangkok and book in, ok I know the Capella is probably one of the best hotels on earth, I have stayed there and reviewed it, have you?.
consider a hotel on location then price, and that bit of extra spice you can get, i got it here, I have reviewed some of the very best hotels on this planet have you!!!
This hotel has some things to be looked at don't go there with a blindfold on, the whole area is a a mind field of architechural splendor, the cathedrals ok give two hours there.
Please dont review a hotel with a negitive review that I have given a posititive review, Iwill reply its my job you will lose...

Rooms
We had a nice, one night stay. Our room was clean, spacious and with renovated bathroom (room 2). The mattress was comfortable. The windows had rolled down blinds as well as curtains. We had a kettle and tea/coffee in the room. It was nothing like the rooms presented on some of the photos in other reviews, so I think that it depends which room you are accommodated in.
Safety
The hotel is on a main road but in order to get in one has to have a swipe card or ring a bell. We felt safe.
Walkability
It is about 45-50 min walk to the city centre. Alternatively, regular buses run every 10-20 minutes from the front of the hotel. Buses 75. 80 and 80A all stop there. very convenient.
Food and drinks
The breakfast is continental only, but they inform about it at the booking stage. There was a choice of boiled eggs, meat, tomatoes, cucumber etc. They provided croissants and different types of cereals. Tea and coffee as well as herbal teas provided. There was a choice of fruit and yogurt, or plant milk. Not bad as for continental. We left happy and the breakfast kept us going for hours while visiting Liverpool. Yes, they could invest in a better coffee machine but it is not a deal breaker for us.
Noteworthy details
The parking is small (for about 8 cars) but there is no restriction to park on the road and we left our car there for the whole day after checking out. No problems at all.
